It is a pleasure to welcome you to Spearfish Middle School (SMS). Our mission is empowering all students to succeed in changing world.  SMS is committed to providing students with a wide range of academic and extra-curricular experiences.   It is our desire to see every student learning every day and pursuing school activities of interest.  To meet the learning needs of students, we have a highly skilled instructional and support staff to work with your child.  We expect students to focus on achieving educational goals, not only for each school year, but throughout middle school and high school in preparation for postsecondary options. 

 
It is my goal to see every student involved in at least one activity each year with a commitment to stay involved in their school through band, choir, clubs, student government, athletics and/or other school activities.  I am asking that you encourage your child to become involved and play an active role in his/her school.    It will provide an element of social interaction and life experiences, which are vital to your child’s growth and development.
